Drouot was one of the most important and effective of Napoleon's Generals. As a gunnery expert he was present at Trafalgar, then became head of the Imperial Guard's artillery. He fought in Spain, Russia, Germany and France. Went to Elba with Napoleon and was appointed Governor of the Island. Drouot commanded the Imperial Guard during the Waterloo campaign and narrowly escaped being executed for treason by the Bourbons. He was very highly respected by Napoleon and the army.
