1 Marbot, Jean-Baptiste-Marcellin. THE MEMOIRS OF BARON MARBOT, EDITED AND ILLUSTRATED BY COL. JOHN W. THOMASON.
New York Scribner's 1935
Tall 8vo, xii+499pp. Fine original cloth. Marbot, who was close to Napoleon and aide-de-camp to six of his Marshals, was clearly blessed with 'more than total recall.' Neverthless, these are the most colorful, exciting, and famous of all military memoirs. The novelist and Napoleonic historian R.F. Delderfield does not hesitate to call this 'the greatest book I have ever read.'
